Susumelles are traditional cakes from the Hainaut region of Belgium. They are easy to make and very tasty.

Directions
- Melt the starter by adding a little warm water, then add a pinch of salt and two tablespoons of flour, and mix well.
- Cover and let it rest until the dough has doubled in size.
- Form a smooth ball of dough by placing the resulting piece on a flat surface and adding the remaining flour and butter. ≈ 10 min
- Cover with a cloth for about 20 minutes. Then, using a rolling pin, roll out the dough to create a thin layer of about 1 cm thickness.
- Cut out oval shapes and arrange them in an oven-safe dish, which has been greased with butter. ≈ 3 min
- Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius until the mushrooms are lightly golden.
- Once cooked, drizzle the surface with honey or a dark chocolate sauce. ≈ 3 min
