Directions
- Cut the dough into squares, approximately 20 x 20 cm. Place 1 tablespoon of the powdered sugar, cardamom, and walnut mixture on each square, then roll up to form filled leaf shapes. ≈ 10 min
- Heat the oil in a pan. Once the churros are golden brown, about five minutes, remove them from the oil and immediately dip them in the syrup.
- Cut each roll in half, lengthwise, and decorate with ground pistachios. ≈ 8 min
- For the syrup: combine the sugar, water, and saffron over low heat until the syrup thickens. ≈ 3 min
