Directions
- Cook the bacon with the chopped onion in the water for 20 minutes. While that’s simmering, wash the beans, trim them, and cut them into pieces. Keep the pears whole, with their stems, so they don’t fall apart, removing only the flower parts.
- Add the beans and continue cooking for 15 minutes.
- Finally, add the pears, which don’t need to be fully submerged, and let it simmer for another 15 minutes.
- Just before serving, mix the flour with a little water or broth, then incorporate this mixture into the stew, stirring well. Season with salt and add a little nutmeg if desired.
