This onion soup simmers gently in butter and broth, then is baked in the oven with toasted bread and cheese. A classic, comforting dish.

Directions

  1. Return to the original recipe: sauté the garlic cloves and chopped onion in butter, cover with broth, season, and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.
  2. Toast the bread, remove the crust, and grate the cheese.
  3. Add the wine to the soup, pour it into bowls, place a slice of toasted bread on each, cover with cheese, and bake for 3-5 minutes to melt and brown.
  4. Cut the bread crusts into small pieces, fry them for 2 to 5 minutes, and serve them with the soup.

  • 70 g of finely chopped onion
  • 40 g of butter
  • 1.25 liters of meat broth
  • 4 slices of toasted bread
  • 200 g of hard cheese, grated
  • 1 glass of wine (approximately 15 cl)
