Malaysian rice flour meatballs, filled with kidney beans and palm sugar, rolled in sesame seeds and deep-fried until golden brown.
Ondeh-ondeh are small, sticky rice balls filled with a sweet kidney bean paste. Rolled in sesame seeds and then deep-fried, they are golden and crispy on the outside.

Directions
- Wash the kidney beans and cook them in water until they are tender.
- Add the palm sugar, powdered sugar, and pandan leaves. Mix well and cook until the mixture is almost dry.
- Sprinkle with cassava flour to thicken the filling, which can then be rolled into balls once it has cooled. Remove from heat and set aside.
- For the dough, combine the flour, lukewarm water, eggs, and salt. Form into balls, then hollow out the center to create a space for the filling, and then close the balls up again, making them about the size of a golf ball. ≈ 10 min
- Roll the balls around in the sesame seeds, applying gentle pressure to help them stick. ≈ 10 min
- Heat the oil in a deep pan and fry the meatballs over low heat until they are golden brown. Drain and serve.
