Directions

  1. Melt the butter over low heat.
  2. Then, add the sugar and flour, mixing well. ≈ 3 min
  3. Once the ingredients have been thoroughly mixed, add the remaining ingredients. ≈ 3 min
  4. Preheat the oven to approximately 180 to 200 °C.
  5. Line a baking dish with aluminum foil. ≈ 3 min
  6. Place small balls of dough on the paper, leaving enough space between them, and then quickly flatten them with a wet spatula. ≈ 10 min
  7. These small balls of dough are called “kletskopjes” (the word “kletskop” means “bald head” in Belgium and has Belgian origins). ≈ 10 min
  8. Bake the cookies for 7 to 10 minutes, until they are golden brown but not burnt.
  9. Let them cool completely, then carefully remove them from the paper.
  10. Either consume them quickly, or store them in an airtight container to prevent them from becoming hard. ≈ 3 min
