Directions
- Heat the water and sugar together until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
- Add the chopped chocolate to the melted butter, and mix until a smooth consistency is achieved. ≈ 4 min
- Soak the whisk in the sugar syrup and allow it to cool slightly.
- Add the egg and whisk, and mix thoroughly. ≈ 4 min
- Pour the mixture into a 23 cm (9 inch) springform pan, which has been greased and lined with parchment paper. ≈ 3 min
- Wrap the bottom and sides of the springform pan with aluminum foil to prevent water from seeping into the cake during baking. ≈ 3 min
- Bake in the oven in a water bath at 180 °C for 25 to 30 minutes.
