Directions
- In a bowl, combine the flour and a pinch of salt, then gradually add water while mixing until a thick dough forms that pulls away from the sides of the bowl (approximately 10 minutes).
- The dough is allowed to rest for about an hour.
- The mixture is placed in a plastic bag with a hole, approximately the size of a finger, at one end (this is known as a doser or syringe). ≈ 3 min
- Heat a pan over medium heat, adding two cups of oil paint.
- To form the churros, squeeze the bag containing the mixture into the hot oil.
- You can make straight churros by cutting the dough with scissors as soon as it comes out of the machine; or you can make loop-shaped churros by cutting the dough with your fingers and attaching it to the same churro. ≈ 3 min
- Keep turning them until they are golden brown, using a wooden spoon. ≈ 3 min
- Retrieve them using a skimmer or a wooden spoon, and allow them to drain directly into the pan. Then, place them preferably in a container with a mesh or in a dish with a cloth.
- If you wish, you can mix it with sugar. ≈ 4 min
