Directions
- First, cut the milk into small pieces. Then, pour it into a large glass.
- Add one tablespoon of sugar and mix, then add the yeast gradually and mix again. ≈ 4 min
- Let it rest for ten minutes in a warm place until the yeast has risen and reached the top of the glass.
- Sift the flour into a bowl, make a well in the centre, and add the salt and yeast. ≈ 2 min
- Mix with a spatula, then use your fingers to knead until a soft, elastic ball forms. ≈ 10 min
- Let it rest for 30 minutes in a warm place, until it has doubled in volume.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan, then let it cool.
- Once the dough has risen, place it on a clean work surface and flatten it quickly with a flat object. ≈ 4 min
- Work the dough, incorporating the butter, beaten egg, cinnamon, sugar, and sifted flour. ≈ 3 min
- Cover with a cloth and let it rise for 3 hours.
- Quickly work the dough until it becomes sticky, then divide it into twelve balls. ≈ 10 min
- Hold a ball in your left hand and use your right index finger to make a hole in the center of it. ≈ 10 min
- Hold the doughnut in your finger for 10 seconds. ≈ 3 min
- Repeat this process with the remaining dough balls. ≈ 10 min
- Heat the oil paint in a pot until it simmers. Then, gently drop in the “balls” in batches of three.
- Cook for two minutes, then flip and cook for another minute.
- Drain on absorbent paper. ≈ 2 min
- Sprinkle with granulated sugar before serving. ≈ 2 min
