Directions
- Select firm, green apples. Peel them and cut them into thin slices. ≈ 8 min
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, lemon juice, and water. Add the apple slices and let them marinate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Roll out the shortcrust pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into a circle larger than the tart dish.
- Place the dough in the pie dish, top with marinated apples, and cover with another layer of shortcrust pastry. ≈ 10 min
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender. Let cool before serving.
