Directions
- Preheat the oven to 150 °C.
- Melt the butter, sugar, and syrup in a saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until the butter melts and the mixture takes on a beautiful golden color. If the butter is soft, add a pinch of salt. Then, add your desired flavorings.
- Add the oatmeal and mix to form a paste. ≈ 4 min
- Pour the batter into a greased and floured baking dish and spread it evenly, making sure it is flat. Bake until the cake is golden brown (25 minutes). Double the recipe to fill a full-sized baking dish.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for about five minutes. If you want a layer of dark chocolate, spread it now: either melt it in a double boiler or in the microwave. Then cut into pieces, for example, 5 x 10 cm, and let cool completely on the baking sheet.
