Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
  2. Soften the cream cheese in the microwave for 30 seconds. ≈ 3 min
  3. Combine the cheese, egg, and sugar. ≈ 4 min
  4. Cover the pan with parchment paper.
  5. Distribute the chocolate chips evenly across the bottom of the cupcake liners, creating a thin layer; do not completely cover the bottom of the liners. ≈ 3 min
  6. Fill the cups with the cheese mixture and place them in the oven.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes. The chocolate will melt and form a base for your cakes, but some will also rise through the cream cheese.
  8. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool for 20 minutes, until the chocolate has hardened at the bottom and become crisp.
