Plate of homemade treats: moist cakes, brownies and shortbread
A platter of homemade treats to end the evening: soft yogurt cake squares, chocolate brownies and homemade butter cookies with pearl sugar.
To end the evening, nothing beats a platter of treats to share: golden, tender yogurt cake squares, plus homemade brownies and butter cookies — fudgy chocolate bars on one side, little cookies that crunch under their pearl sugar on the other.
All three recipes are simple and bake one after another in the same oven, at the same temperature. The yogurt cake and the brownies are each made in a square pan, then cut into squares and bars once cooled; the cookies are piped with a pastry bag.
Enough to fill a lovely platter for coffee, with a few cookies left over for the next day.
